THE INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER/INTERNSHIP EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (IVEP)

The Child Rights Information and Documentation Centre (CRIDOC) is welcoming volunteers and interns from abroad to carry out various activities to enhance the capacity of the organisation and its local institutional partners. The International Volunteer/Internship Exchange Programme (IVEP) aims to provide volunteers with unique opportunities to do something positive about human rights, particularly child rights related issues, and to share their skills.
NOTE:
Before filling in the application form, we recommend that you first review Our Statement of Understanding Below

I, the undersigned, understand and agree that the Child Rights Information & Documentation Centre (CRIDOC) is under no obligation to select me or any other applicant for the International Volunteer/Internship Programme. If, however, selected I will agree to the premises and conditions set forth in the following statement:  

  1. The primary purpose of the volunteer programme is to assist CRIDOC and/or its local partners in ways that are relevant and useful; I am not seeking this fellowship for purposes of tourism, job seeking, or personal and professional reasons that are irrelevant or contrary to the aims and objectives of the programme’s.

  1. As a precondition for participation, I agree to:

  • Accept the general assignment, destination and general project assignment designated by the Interns/Volunteer Coordinator;

  • Take part in the orientation exercise in Lilongwe on dates designated by the Interns/Volunteer Coordinator;

  • If requested, undertake additional preparation for my assignment, such as participating in language classes, which will be made available by the Interns/Volunteer Coordinator;

  • Accept to undergo through a mid-term and final evaluation of work. Guidelines for evaluation are prepared separately.

  • Accept to undergo through an exit interview at the time of departure conducted by the Executive Director holds;

  • Write, within 60 days of competing the programme, a post-programme evaluation report, and a status report, the latter for publication by CRIDOC.

  1. I will be responsible for my own passport and visa arrangements and may be asked to assist with other logistical arrangements related to my specific assignment as determined by the Interns/Volunteer Coordinator.

  1. I accept to pay an administrative fee of 600 USD for a period of at least six months to enable CRIDOC fulfil administrative matters, including accommodation, working space, etc.

    Note, however, that this fee may be reduced in the event that there are more than one applicants/volunteers at a time as they will have to share the cost/fee.

  1. I understand and agree that, if any harm comes to me or my family during the programme, CRIDOC cannot be held responsible or liable. However, on its part, CRIDOC (and its local partner, where applicable) pledges to make the stay as comfortable, pleasant, productive and safe as possible.

  1. If I am selected as volunteer, I and CRIDOC (and where applicable, the CRIDOC’s local partner) will enter into a final and binding agreement prior to beginning the programme.

  1. In applying for the IVEP, I agree to all the conditions set.

  1. I confirm that all statements in this application are true.
