CRIDOC Volunteers at the Regional CSEC Conference

Four of the CRIDOC volunteers were among the delegates from at least ten countries in the East and Southern Africa who converged in the Tanzanian capital, Dar- Es- Salaam, from 8 -12 May 2006,  to reaffirm their commitment in the fight against Commercial Sex Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and share experience on the activities carried out in their individual countries at a conference organized by End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT).

Bishop Makenzie Donates Books to CRIDOC

Bishop Mackenzie International School (BMIS) in May this year donated to Child Rights Information and Documentation Centre (CRIDOC) three cartons of assorted books to be used at the resource centre in Area 18B, in Lilongwe, which CRIDOC is co-managing with the Youth Alliance in Social and Economic Development (YASED).

Youth Net and Counselling (YONECO) leads the way again. In an effort to reach young people with relevant information on HIV/AIDS, human rights and child abuse and to protect children from abuse as well, YONECO has launched yet another facility for dealing with the Challenge. Construction Begins on New Orphan Care Center

Construction on one of Raising Malawi’s most exciting and important initiatives, the new Consol Homes Raising Malawi Orphan Care Center, is underway. In October, architects, engineers, management teams, traditional authority leaders and volunteers celebrated the official groundbreaking of the new child care facility, which will serve thousands of orphans and vulnerable children from various villages in and around the Malawian district of Lilongwe.
